Vatican, year of Christ 1481. The construction of the Sistine Chapel is completed and Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere calls upon the best artists of the century to fresco it. Florence, Basilica of San Lorenzo. In 1520 Pope Leo X commissioned Michelangelo to build a chapel to honour two cadets of the Medici family. the statues in the New Sacristy are a celebration of man in the all-consuming Time machine.
